Common questions
How do I activate our school license?
After your school purchases a Building License ($599/year, 2 users) — plus any additional users at $99/year each — by invoice, purchase order, or card, you receive a license code. In the app, go to Settings → Activate License and enter the code. Unlimited observations unlock immediately for all accounts on your license.
I used my 3 free walkthroughs — what happens to that data?
Nothing is lost. Your walkthroughs remain viewable and exportable. New observations unlock when a license code is entered.
How do I import my teacher roster?
On the Teachers tab, tap Import Teachers and either upload a CSV file or paste rows directly. The file requires two columns in this order:
- Column 1 — Name: Teacher's full name (e.g.,
Ms. Rivera). Names containing a comma must be quoted:"Smith, Dana". - Column 2 — Grade: Grade level (e.g.,
K,1,Grade 3,kindergarten— all normalized automatically).
Example: Ms. Rivera,K · Mr. Chen,1 · "Smith, Dana",2
Header rows are auto-detected and skipped. Duplicates are skipped automatically. A preview shows all rows before anything saves.
Does the app work without WiFi?
Yes — fully. All observation data is stored directly on your device. The app works entirely without an internet connection; nothing is uploaded to external servers. See The On-Device Advantage for how that's built.
How do I export or delete our data?
The Export tab provides one-tap CSV/PDF downloads (observations, teacher profiles, gap analysis, trends, and a School PD Plan). For complete account deletion, email privacy@sorvia.io — fulfilled within 30 days per our Privacy Policy. See the exact file contents in the Data Export Spec Sheet.
Is this a teacher evaluation system?
No. LiteracyLens is designed for informal walkthroughs, coaching conversations, and instructional leadership. It is not a replacement for a district's formal teacher evaluation system unless approved by the district.
